The key motivator in life is purpose. Meaning. A goal to achieve. An end to accomplish. A proper vision propels us through life’s challenges.

Without a vision to grab hold of, to tether us to the person God has made us to be, we will find ourselves tossed back and forth by the waves of circumstance. Every wind of teaching becomes our new source of motivation.

The reason adopting a true perspective is so important is because there is nothing more vital than knowing who we are, who God is, and how we are to think, act, and believe as a result. All of life is a pursuit of this end.

We find what we are looking for. And so many of us are unsure where to look. Like Peter hopping over the side of a boat, our vision is meant for Jesus. Our eyes are made to lock with His. We can do incredible things, live incredible lives, and overcome impossible circumstances with a proper vision in place.

Without this vision of life, we are destined to perish. We might be overwhelmed by circumstances, led astray by falsities, or lulled into an apathetic sleep.

But with the vision of true perspective, we can see the world through the eyes of God’s wisdom. We can discover the purpose He has for us. We can participate in the fullness of meaning.

“Where there is no vision, the people perish.”
– Proverbs 29:18
