God’s glory is the visible reality about who he is.

All around us, this truth is being proclaimed. In nature (Psalm 19). And through the Spirit within our hearts. God’s glory is something in which we can participate.

We participate when we abide in the vine that is Jesus and thereby show God to others through the fruit in our lives. Abiding gives us power to make choices that lead to the fruits of the Spirit. “Abide” is an action verb. When we abide, we tap into the Kingdom of Heaven. We serve the Body of Christ, and the One True God.

“Abide” is “meno” in Greek and is often used to describe situations where someone chooses how to live. When we “live” in the vine, stay connected, and take our sustenance there instead of elsewhere, we reflect Jesus by allowing His deeds to flow through us.

We show others the glory of God as we make decisions that honor the truth of who He is. That in turn shapes who we are. No circumstance can disqualify us from this opportunity. God’s promise shines through every moment of every day. Sometimes it is mundane. Sometimes it is just a glimmer. Sometimes it is so brilliant, we cannot look directly at it.

God is offering us the glory of his perspective. The refreshing abundance of truth. God has granted the enormous privilege of offering to share His glory through us. Abiding requires trusting that God has our best interest at heart. Abiding requires us to make choices that align with who God is. To make a home based on His design for us, and commit our lives to following His ways.

“If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.”
– John 15:7-8
