The journey of life on this earth is over in the blink of an eye. It is short and sweet. A brief wisp in the long story of Eternity.

God has given us an acceptance that spans eternity. His grace leads us from everlasting to everlasting. Life on earth is one short frame in a long reel. God is the director, producer, and true star in the cosmic story. The story of Heaven.

Our prize is to participate in this story. To play our part well. To cast a view heavenward and engage in fellowship with Christ Jesus.

When we view our lives in light of Eternity, we take on a spiritual maturity that unlocks many of the riches of God’s Kingdom.

Our immaturity comes when we lose sight of this perspective. We try to control our circumstances and convert the temporal, superficial experience of this life into an idol we can worship, manipulate, and control.

We try to work toward the heaven we have rebranded in our own image rather than out of God’s true eternal kingdom. Through God’s acceptance, we have already attained access to His Kingdom. Heaven is now, as well as later. Our brief life on this earth is, at best, a celebration of Eternity to come.

“I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. All of us, then, who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you. Only let us live up to what we have already attained.”
– Philippians 3:14-16
