God’s watchful presence is a benefit to us and the life we long to lead. He sees us. He hears us when we call.

Too often, we only accept the opportunity of fellowship with him when our circumstances are desperate. But his gaze is beautiful and beneficial in every terrain of life. It is always upon us.

Our greatest good, what is best for us and means the most to us, is found in the heart of God. We need to live in alignment with him to truly find peace, to truly experience joy, and to discover the purpose we all desire. His pleased gaze is what matters most in this world and the next.

When we live to please God, we walk the path to our greatest fulfillment. What God desires for us is also what is best for us.

The truth of God’s goodness can be terrifying. It is humbling because it exposes our inadequacies. So in our pride, we often prefer to hide from His presence.

But that perspective denies reality. God sees all. There is no hiding. He even knows our intentions, and probes the intersection between soul and spirit.

“May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.”
– Psalm 19:14
