God asks Noah to take action, to do something specific. Basically, He is saying, “You are righteous in a corrupt world, so here is what I want you to do…

“I want you to build an ark. Make it just like this.”

God gives the instruction and the blueprint. And Noah does according to all that God commanded him. As he was told, so he did.

We are not so different. We are believers, living in a corrupt world, seeking intimacy with God. And he has given us something to do. We’ve got our marching orders just like Noah.
God has commanded us to build an ark. God gives us something to do. An ark to build.

Our ark is the life we live. Our ark is living a life that exhibits the resurrection power of Jesus. Our blueprint is the commands of Jesus.

That is what will save us from the negative consequences of sin. And like Noah, when we walk in the resurrection power of Jesus, we gain great reward.

As God commands us to act, He gives us the specifications – the dimensions and limitations of a well-lived life.

What is the condition of your ark? Have you followed the specifications? Will it stand when the weather turns sour? Noah is provided in numerous places in the Bible as an example of obedience. Let’s build our ark just the way Jesus told us to.

“Thus Noah did; according to all that God had commanded him, so he did.”
