In every superhero movie, there is the one scene where the hero comes into his/her own. It usually entails the hero walking or standing in a striking pose with their chest puffed out (and maybe a cape billowing in the wind). We love superhero movies precisely for this moment. It makes us feel as if we might be strong, capable.

Just like the superheroes in those movies, our moments of triumph, our strength, does not come out of a vacuum. It comes through challenge, learning, overcoming obstacles and remaining faithful to the cause.

God is the source of strength for faith superheroes like you. He knows you are weary. He knows you are tired. But He renews strength by the promise of His presence, with which we can participate in incredible things.

If you are down today, tired and worn thin, look up to Jesus, the source of your strength. Be renewed by His presence. There are mountains to climb today, distances to walk, air in which to soar.

“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
