Have you ever looked over the ocean or experienced the forest in full fall color or had some other experience that caused an exuberance sweep over you? Have you ever exhaled slowly, smiled and thought, “this is perfect”?
Those moments are few and far between. If we live near the ocean it soon becomes routine. Peak color lasts a short time. But when we have the eyes to see, all moments can be spectacular.
Wisdom includes the ability to see every moment as brimming with opportunity, not just when circumstances feel “perfect”. Those ” feel perfect” circumstances can remind us that every circumstance is “perfect” in the sense of being a great opportunity to live by faith, learn, grow in our walk, be conformed to the image of Christ, and connect with others.
Times of hurt or everyday grind have just as much value as those perfect moments, regardless of what our emotions tell us.
Every moment is a perfect moment. A perfect moment to trust God and walk in His ways. It might be a hard moment or a mundane moment. But it is also a time when we can choose. We can decide to see and worship the True Living God. To live a life of faith in community with The Lord of the Universe.
The perfect moments are to be celebrated. To be basked in for as long as they linger, which usually is very brief. But don’t wait for your senses to make your choices. Today is a day of goodness. A day of worship and celebration. Believe it, and choose it.
