The Holy Spirit is the power supply within us. It gives us our strength. It empowers our faith. It allows us to make choices in alignment with who God is and what He wants for our lives.

A lot of perversions and false teachings have erupted that claim the Holy Spirit is the source of power to achieve our fleshly desires. We can have worldly wealth and avoid suffering if we just tap into this supernatural source of strength.

But the Bible is clear that The Holy Spirit is not a tool to achieve our lusts. It is the source by which we are empowered to love others, thereby testifying to the world the truth of The Gospel.

The main difference between the power of superheroes and the power of super villains is the manner in which they use their strength. Is it to help others or for personal material gain?

The power of The Holy Spirit allows us to live meaningful lives. To make wise choices. To experience the riches of intimacy with God and to love others. We most effectively testify to God’s goodness by living a life of wise stewardship.

“‘He said to them: ‘It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.’”
– Acts 1:7-8
